That was the shortest and the longest vacation of my life. I was gone for so
long, I almost forgot I had this website I barely maintain anymore. Anyway, it
was awesome. Drew and I spent a few days with his parents in Door County,
Wisconsin–who knew that such a beautiful place existed? Exquisite waterfront
views of sailboats, charming shingle style houses, and an old fashioned ice
cream parlour? It was divine! Then on down to Chicago, where we did “Tour Drew”
as Phil’s wife, Sharon, calls it, house hopping all over the place. Went into
some cute stores that carried my stuff–that’s always fun. Drew walks around and
looks at paper like he’s actually shopping, then picks up a box of my stuff and
says really loudly, “This is cute!”. It’s hysterical. Went to a Cubs game–the
best part of which was that Drew bought be a cute little pink Cubs’ visor, so
that I could officially be called a “fan”. Then we were off to his brothers for
another couple of days…and then home, via Phil and Sharon’s lake house. It was
a blast. Happy memories. I’m almost sorry it’s over and I’m back here in muggy,
humid, Oklahoma. So I’ve spent an hour and a half back at the office, checking
orders, emails, all that. I’m moving at the end of this month, turns out…all
the cards fell into place and I got out of the rent, which was good, since I’m
realizing there are a million other things I could spend $300 on each month. But
that means we have to get full swing into having the house finished (or at least
liveable) by August 1…and well, let’s just say, at this point in time, that’s
a laughing matter. Now I have to check everyone’s sites and get outta here.
