Just in case this whole Movable Type thing totally CRASHES and I can never post again, I would like to tell dear readers (found out I had 2!) that installing your own blog app can be infuriating. In the past two days, I’ve tried to blog three times, and to be quite frank, the text boxes only work about 10% of the time. One of those times being now, I thought I would alert you to the reasoning behind my lack of posting.
There is ice everywhere in TX and OK, and all I want are these: Cinnamon Sugar Puff Cupcakes and a Taco Bell bean burrito.

So, progress on the blog was made. I WAY messed it up, and then had to reformat it back to this template. Much still needs to be done, but at least it’s working for now. Minus the comments. Sorry, E, I still have to tackle that.
We had a really lovely night with my parents, aunt and uncle, and sister and bro-in-law last night. I meant to take photos, and completely forgot. Tonight, we’re going to have dinner with the hubs family, and that will be fun, too.
My next challenge to myself is to start to add some photos to this blog. We’ll see if I can come up with some for tomorrow.

And now I’ve gone and broke it.

I forget how far sleepless mornings get me sometimes. Blog has been upgraded from MT 3.13 to 4.whatever. Super easy–I take back my complaints about MT being hard to manage. Also, switched from drab blue template to dull white. At least white goes with, um, everything, and I can build on that from here. Also, teenage angst posts from my early twenties have been located and imported, just can’t get them to publish.
I remember the last time I started out with a blog: it went from blogger, to a custom HTML blogger template, to MT, to a custom MT CSS template, until I shut it down. I remember liking the whole “ongoing project” feel to it–there really would never be an end to the changes and upgrades that could be made to a blog, and it was constantly improving on what had previously been built. Kind of like a scrapbook, except I actually have tried to go back and revamp my first scrapbook pages. Lesson learned: don’t try to build on what was crap in the first place. Just leave it there as a sign of improvement.
Maybe I shouldn’t publish those early twenties entries.

I’d have more time for this blogging thing, and more substance to add to these entries. Also, I’d know how to get away from this DRAB blue, which isn’t my personality at all–blogs need at least a touch of froof, ya know? I’d figure out how to migrate off this old version of MovableType, which I used to think was cool, and now I just think is hard to manage and update, and I’d add back in the archives of all my old blogs, which would be, well, INTERESTING. Also, in a perfect world, my entries would show up in paragraph form in Bloglines. But, not a perfect world, so I’m just gonna have to live with it.
I did, however, manager to get the comments enabled (for all one of my dear readers, ha!).
I’m off to dinner with my best friend from second grade. How cool is it to have a connection that goes back that far? She got married a few months ago, and we are going to have take out at her new house. Fun!

I have been keeping up with a touching story lately: Harper Brown Stamps, a little girl with a pretty bad case of pneumonia, has an awesome mom, who loves the Lord, has an immense amount of faith, and is blogging about it over here. Pray for them.
